In Outlook 2010, I click <strong>File &gt; Account Settings &gt; Account Settings<\/strong> (again, it may be slightly different for Outlook 2016, but you should be able to find your way)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2166\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"514\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-1.png 514w, http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-1-300x202.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This should bring up a window showing all of your email accounts like this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2167\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"409\" height=\"339\" srcset=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-2.png 409w, http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-2-300x249.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Double-click on the email address you want to fix<\/strong>. That will open a \u201cChange Account\u201d window that looks like this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2168\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"483\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-3.png 483w, http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-3-300x211.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Click the \u201cMore Settings\u201d button<\/strong>, which will open a window an \u201cInternet email settings\u201d window. \u00a0<strong>Click on the \u201cAdvanced\u201d<\/strong> <strong>tab<\/strong>. If the Outgoing server port say \u201c25\u201d, change it to 587. If it says \u201c587\u201d, change it to 25.\u00a0Then <strong>click the \u201cOK\u201d button<em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2169\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-4.png 399w, http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-4-272x300.png 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll then be back at the <strong>Change Account<\/strong> window. Make sure \u201cTest account settings by clicking the Next button\u201d is checked, then click the Next button:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2170\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"496\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-5.png 496w, http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-5-300x212.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 496px) 100vw, 496px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Outlook will attempt to connect to the email server and do a test receive, as well as a test send. If you get green checks for each, you\u2019re good:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2171\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"574\" height=\"253\" srcset=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-6.png 574w, http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-6-300x132.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 574px) 100vw, 574px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Click the \u201cClose\u201d button<\/strong>, which will take you to a \u201cCongratulations\u201d message in the Change Account window. <strong>Click \u201cFinish\u201d<em>:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2172\" src=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"687\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-7.png 687w, http:\/\/digitalprominence.com\/website\/wp-content\/uploads\/42109-7-300x210.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 687px) 100vw, 687px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Repeat this process<\/strong> for each email address that is getting the (0x80042109) error message.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Remember<\/strong>: you may need to change the outgoing server port to either 25 or 587, depending on where you are and who the Internet Service Provider is. If you change it to 587 while you\u2019re on the road, you may need to change it back to 25 when you return or go somewhere else.
