Specific things that can/should be done to increase website traffic. All of them will cost you some of my time, but the ones I mark with ($) will also cost something additional (like pay-per-click campaigns):
- Keyword analysis to find high-traffic, targeted keywords
- Write “Articles” on priority keywords for publication on the website and (possibly) in article directories
- Update “Google Places” listing
- Create Facebook page & link to website
- ($) Google Pay-per-click campaigns around selected keywords
- Create/Update listing at local.yahoo.com
- ($) See about paid advertising there
- Update listing at local.com
- ($) Featured listing @ local.com

The first item (Keyword Analysis) must be done, as all others revolve around it. Other than that, you need to tell me which one(s) you’re interested in doing. Keep in mind that “updating a listing” doesn’t cost anything (except a little bit of my time), and can/should be done regardless of whether you want to look at associated paid advertising. If you’re interested in any of the “paid” options, I will dig up info on pricing and let you know what it is.
Some (if not all) of the listings I need to update will require “owner verification” that I have authority to do so. The way it works with Google Places (for instance) is that they (Google) will call the phone number listed as the business’ main phone number. You’ll need to have constant accessibility to that phone number so that you can receive any authorization phone calls. Also for Google (and maybe others) they will give you an “authorization code” by phone which you’ll have to give to me so I can actually make the listing changes “stick”. So please get that info to me as soon as possible when you get one of these.
